Understand and Overcome Sexual Shame | Stevie Hall, Sex Therapist

Sex is meant to be a meaningful, connected experience with ourselves and our partners. However, for many of us, the shame of culture, family values, inadequate sex education, and inability to cope effectively has lead us to have a painful relationship with sex. This relationship can lead to us to not only begin to resent sex, and shame ourselves. Sex addiction can be a result from this unhealthy relationship with sex causing behaviors including compulsive porn use, multiple affairs (emotional and sexual), prostitutes and prostitution, exhibitionism, and more. Sexual addiction can be very isolating and filled with cycles of shame and despair that further continue the acting out behaviors.

Our guest today, Stevie Hall is a sex therapist and certified sex addiction therapist in Dallas, Texas at LifeWorks Recovery. Her passion is helping men and women develop a healthy relationship with sex by overcoming shame and anxiety, and embracing a confident, shame free sexuality. Stevie discusses how her own relationship with sexuality had been impacted by her culture, past abuse, and inadequate education.
